The Final Moments 2009
Prepare yourself for a wonderful day starting with a BBQ in the Ternelles forest. The land is owned by the Banca March family and only open to the public on this day of the year or by private appointment. It is the most magnificent scenery and back drop for a fiesta that has been a village tradition for centuries. .
While most of the village are enjoying a BBQ ( some still celebrating from the night before "San Antoni" ) The elders have organised the chopping down of the tallest tree, stripping all branches bar the highest one and waxing it half way up.
At about 3pm the tree is taken to the village finally arriving outside the church at about 7pm. Then it is raised and secured and the young men of the village try to climb at the top. The first one to do so will join the others on the role of honour and the history books of Pollença.
